Tuesday afternoon, 26th January, local time in Florida, Kiwi Samantha Osborne's team qualified in second place in Group C for the Gold Group, Stage 3 of the competition; the quarterfinals.
The Kiwi team qualified in second place in Group C behind Nicky Souter's crew from Australia, who won Group C.
Osborne's team won 5 out of 7 matches in their round robin, losing only to Souter and Katie Archer (GBR). Souter lost only one match - against Silke Hahlbrock (GER).
The top two in each of three round robin groups (A, B and C) go straight through to Stage 3 of the competition, and form the first six entrants in the quarterfinals. The other two places in the quaterfinals are determined from a repechage round robin series of the third and fourth placed competitors in each group.
