ALL4ONE opened the Louis Vuitton Trophy Auckland races today, winning a first point straight away against the Italian team Mascalzone Latino.

ALL4ONE and Mascalzone Latino trained together in Valencia before the competition last mid-February, and that point was important to win for the French-German team.

ALL4ONE led the race from the beginning till the end, increasing step by step the delta with their opponent, starting with an advantage of 19 seconds at the first mark and finishing 44 seconds ahead on the finish line.

Jochen Schümann, Skipper and Strategist: "winning is good fun and we're very pleased to take the first win. After a long wait on the water as there was no wind at all a the beginning of the day, but the breeze came in after a while and stayed relatively steady, and I think the key for us was that we believed from the beginning that there was a little extra-breeze underneath Rangitoto (the Island on the right of the race course), so we were fighting for the right hand side at the start and also for the course. We got exactly the start we wanted. It was quite an investment as we had to tack twice before the start, and it might not have looked that great at the very beginning, but we achieved the strategic position we wanted and it payed off in the end."

Christophe André, mid-bow: "we won this match thanks to a good start that we managed to use straight away by taking the right side of the race course, but also thanks to a great job from the « speed team », as our speed was good at all times during the match. We are very happy of this first match. The team is calm and very concentrated. Tomorrow we will race against Team Origin, a very good team, and a match that we really look forward to racing. We are eager to go racing, that's what we're here for."
