New TV Show to Feature New Zealand Sailing

by Zoe Hawkins

The first New Zealand sailing program in several years will be aired on Sky TV this week.

The first show includes an in-depth feature on Olympian Tom Ashley, a full preview of the upcoming Louis Vuitton Pacific series and highlights from regattas from all over the country.

"New Zealand has long since been one of the power houses of international sailing and it’s great to finally launch a show that showcases the amazing talent there is in this country", says show Co-producer Alex Lewis.

"The first show is a cracker with some great footage from the America's Cup boats tearing across the Gulf - all beautifully filmed by our cameraman and co-producer Dan Frost. Hopefully the sailing community will really get behind the show and we can turn it into a weekly series throughout the summer. Let's face it with all our beautiful coastline and colourful characters, New Zealand really does need its own home made sailing show."

Singapore Airlines and Sail Auckland Regatta Organiser Alan Bilkey have played a huge part in getting this show up and running.

The show also includes opportunities to win some great Line 7 prize packs.

It will air on the last Thursday of every month with several repeats - check your television guides for further details.
