Stena Match Cup Sweden Qualifier: Aon Racing miss finals on countback at GKSS Spring Cup

The last day didn't go Aon Racing's way at the GKSS Spring Cup in Göteborg, Sweden. After winning our first race we were then soundly beaten by Keith Swinton, who simply got a better start and was smart in defending his lead.

We then faced Staffan Lindberg, who was unbeaten to this point. In a thrilling, high wind race we managed to clear a penalty on the final downwind leg to win.

This left us with 6 wins and 3 losses, tied for second with three other teams. The program was cut short with no semi finals and unfortunately we were on the wrong end of the tie break, missing the chance to face Lindberg again in the finals.

The Regatta was eventually won by Rasmus Viltoft of Denmark, who beat Lindberg 2-1 in the finals.
