2010 saw pretty much perfect weather throughout the Regatta with 10 – 25 knots daily. The final count of eighty seven boats contested in nine to ten races over the three days, skippers agreeing “it’s been great racing but pretty hard work. We were always looking forward to that ‘cool one’ back at the tent”. Passage Divisions enjoyed one long race each day, using islands as rounding marks.

Friday night brought the regatta to an end at North Sails Tent, with Spot Prizes and a warm sincere closing speech from Race Chairman Ray Haslar; division prizes were then presented by Murray Walbran of CRC and Melanie MacDiarmid, Committee Race Organizer.

Alan Brierly accepted the stunning Romeyn Woodcraft trophies won by his yacht Limit the Reichel Pugh 65 Australian entry. Alan stated strongly his intention to return and ‘retain’ his position in A Division in 2011. There’s bound to now be a surge of interest from Australia, with Trans-Tasman rivalry to intensify competition – as it does.

The Committee and Volunteers did a great job with both organization throughout – and the physical running of the Roberton Island Beach Party. Hundreds of yachties arrived shore side in shuttle boats to enjoy music, food and liquid refreshments - tired but happy sailors. The Bay of Islands Sailing Committee invitation is already there for 2011.

Note: Adjustment to earlier Prize Information

B Division PHRF Line...IRC SHOULD READ "and in IRC it was Bobby's Girl, Revs (Chris Hornell) and Jive Talkin' (Richard Hudson)”

D Division last line...No prizes for IRC as only 2 boats raced; 3 boats minimum are required to start any race. So no prize presented to Hard Labour
