Even if the Spanish heat doesn't seem to always be favourable for Audi A1 powered by ALL4ONE, they had a nice start in this last racing day in Cartagena, with a good first race for the French-German team who took the 5th place in front of Quantum Racing, and just 3 seconds behind the 3rd team crossing the finish line!
Unfortunately, the second race has been a lot tougher, and Audi A1 powered by ALL4ONE finished in the back of the fleet together with Artemis on this race.
But it is for the last act of this event that Audi A1 powered by ALL4ONE achieved its best race of the week: Jochen Schümann and his team had a great start, and remained from there in control within the three firsts leading this race from A to Z. They crossed the finish line in second position after a nice fight against Quantum Racing again, who is one of the general ranking leaders.
Jochen Schümann, Skipper: "today, which was the last day, was perfect. We finished second in the last race and that's what we would like to do more often. But unfortunately we've waited a long event here to get one podium place in a single event. But it proves we actually can do it, when we sail well, start well, and do no mistakes, but it was a hard week for us."
Sebastien Col, Tactician: "it was important for us to finish on a good race and to take this second place to go again from something positive towards the next event in Cagliari next month. In this last race we had a nice start that we prepared well. In terms of speed, we saw that we can keep it up when we are well adjusted and focused. So I hope that we will keep this positive move from there for Cagliari. I have to say that we were quite happy fighting with Quantum Racing, as it recalled us the good races that we started the season with. We are really looking at top-level sailing here, and we can finish first or last in every race. It is all about confidence and gathering all the elements that enable us to play within the top 3 in every race."
