The recent Registration Amnesty was a huge success with over 500 boat owners grabbing the opportunity for free boat registration change of ownerships and boat name applications.
Due to the huge response, processing of applications is taking some time, and Yachting New Zealand’s Jenny Clarke would like to apologise for the delay to those still awaiting their updated registration papers, and assure you they are coming. Jenny and Beth are working furiously to clear the back-log and pass on their thanks for your patience.
The Amnesty was designed to benefit Yachting New Zealand’s National Yacht Register with a comprehensive update to owner details and contact information. Registration with Yachting New Zealand is a once only for boat owners. If ownership of a boat changes, the onus is upon the new owner to re-register the vessel in their name.
