Today saw light variable winds from the East in the morning, and the race committee did well to get 2 flights away. We won our first race against Matt Steven through great tactics and wind strategy in Tom Johnson, and narrowly lost in the second race to Tristan Brown with a number of lead changes and 30 degree wind shifts.
After a postponement ashore the wind built and steadied to a sea breeze. The team is sailing well together, but we had a number of tactical errors which cost us a few races, we only won 1 race in the afternoon session, against Japanese sailor Yoshida. Spirits on the boat are still high and we are feeling confident for the next round robin. And are looking forward to getting back out on the water tomorrow.
Freshie Racing would like to thank Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, Zhik, Ron Tough Yachting Foundation and Peter Chappell for their great support.
