Bol d'Or Mirabaud: Mid-way Through

After eleven hours the first three boats arrive at Bouveret.

by Christophe Lamps (in translation)

Julius Baer, helmed by Philippe Cardis, as well as Smart Home and Banque Populaire reached the barge of the Bouveret at intervals of seconds, follow by one M2, Fresh, and again two D35s, Zen Too and Okalys-Corum. .

The crew of the new Decision 35 Banque Populaire is helmed by a big champion , Pascal Bidégorry, who is participating for the first time in the Bol d'Or Mirabaud presented by Girard-Perregaux, in the company of the Swiss sailor Yvan Ravussin (brother of Stève). Together, they succeeded all day long to exploit the conditions of light winds with a beautiful regularity.

For the D35, that have sailed for 5 years on Lake Geneva, this trip to Bouveret was the longest one. In 2005, there was also a long race, with 16h30 of racing for the conqueror Loïck Peyron on Okalys. This night, one expects a long and calm return... consequently a very tactical race.

With this type of very variable winds, in force and in direction, many upheavals are possible on the way to the finish.
