America’s Cup

by Jodie Bakewell-White

As New Zealand’s pre-eminent yachting commentator, PJ Montgomery, announced when the BMW Oracle Tri crossed the line in race two of the 33rd America’s Cup, “The America’s Cup is America’s again.”

And we now know that Italy’s Club Nautico di Roma, home Club of Mascalzone Latino Team, will be Challenger of Record for the 34th America’s Cup.

BMW Oracle has announced that, “GGYC [Golden Gate Yacht Club] and CNR [Club Nautico di Roma] have pledged to start a dialogue and wide-ranging discussions with the America’s Cup community, including existing and prospective teams.”

“The objective is to ensure that the 34th America’s Cup is built on the foundations of the competition’s unique past as well as on a shared vision for its future.”

And so we watch, as the next chapter unfolds...
