When racing was slow to get underway in the 2009 Women’s Match Racing National Championships, a group of women keen to get involved in the sport which is now an Olympic class made plans to form The Women’s Match Racing Association of New Zealand. The organisation is designed to promote, encourage and foster the development and growth of the Women’s Match Racing in New Zealand, to organise and assist in facilitating Women’s Match Racing and other female sailing activities, to foster cohesion between sailors, officials & organising authorities, to organise Match Racing rules sessions, and to hold and maintain a database of members of the association.
To join, email sararoberts@woosh.co.nz and provide your name, email address, weight, age, availability for regattas, occupation, nationality, preferred sailing position, and basic sailing CV.
