Earlier this year Yachting New Zealand announced that former GBR coach Jez Fanstone would lead the Olympic and high performance sailing programme, and that Tom Ashley would campaign again while assisting Jez in and number of areas, including lifting sailor performance at pinnacle events.
Further appointments have now been made:
Working alongside Jez and Tom is Nathan Handley, who will continue with Yachting New Zealand as Olympic Programme Coach. Nathan will focus on the double-handed discipline and the promising group of sailors about to campaign in the European season.
Marty Watson takes up a new Yachting New Zealand role, as Youth Development and Paralympics Manager. His focus will be on the achievement of podium positions at the ISAF Youth Worlds, and the further advancement of our Youth and Paralympics programmes.
Further progress will be announced as Yachting New Zealand implements its high performance plans. Yachting New Zealand would also like to acknowledge the great support from SPARC in pursuit of common goals.
