Emirates Team New Zealand got some time on the water on Friday after high winds kept them ashore for two days.
Valuable practice time was lost. The team has little more than five hours to familiarise themselves with the four yachts that all teams will use for the Louis Vuitton Trophy regatta which starts on Saturday.
Friday's workout was welcomed by the sailing team after two days’ cooling their heels ashore.
“We were pleased to go sailing and blow away the cobwebs,” skipper Dean Barker said. ”Every minute on the water is worth gold this close to the first race”.
The sailing team for the regatta is:
Skipper/helm Dean Barker
Tactician Ray Davies
Strategist Adam Beashel
Navigator Jules Salter
Bow Jeremy Lomas
Bow Stu Bettany
Mid-bow Richard Meacham
Mastman Andrew McLean
Runner/pit Tony Rae
Pitman Peter Merrington
Floater Grant Dalton
