Planes, trains, buses and cars, but finally SLAM Kiwi Match has made it to La Rochelle in France for our first regatta of the season. The team has committed itself to a busy schedule of match racing regattas and keelboat events over the Northern Hemisphere summer. With our first stop in La Rochelle for the Coupe D’ete De Match Racing, our big goal for the season is to improve our world ranking and our profile.
With regattas planned so far in France, Italy, Poland and the USA this is an excellent opportunity to build consistency within the team and to put into practice lessons learned with back to back events.

This first regatta in La Rochelle will be sailed on the Farr designed Platu 25 keelboats, the same as the 10 boat fleet owned by the RAYC. There are 8 teams competing here in France, 5 French, 1 Polish and our Kiwi friends from Black Sheep Racing. The pressure will definitely be on the get up to speed quickly and start off the season with a good result to get the momentum going.
We will do our best to keep everyone updated on our progress over the coming months with reports, and updates. Remember to check on our website for photos, videos and links to our twitter feed and facebook page. Everyone’s support is definitely appreciated so don’t be shy, post comments and give us your feedback. Big thanks to all our family, friends and supporters and of course SLAM for their support over this important stage of the teams growth and development.
