Its official, BlackMatch Racing has signed a sponsorship contract with Fedex Express who has agreed to stay aboard for our 2010 Campaign. Having been our major sponsor for the past two years showing incredible support, we are very excited to have them back behind us as we endeavour to retain our World Match Racing Title.

We have also managed to gain the backing of two iconic Kiwi companies, Line 7 and Steinlager Pure.

Line 7 have also been with us for two years and we are extremely impressed with the gear and very proud to have their support again. We have not only been using the inshore gear extensively for all of our match racing, but also their offshore range in races such as the Sydney to Hobart and Fastnet Races where the Line 7 gear has really stood up to the test. Owen Rutter and his company Events Clothing will be supplying BlackMatch Racing with all of their apparel for 2010, keeping the boys looking sharp in a new range of Line 7 gear. Events clothing have been exceedingly generous with what they are supplying for the team and we are looking forward to sporting our new gear in the near future.

Steinlager Pure, which all of the boys agree is a fantastic drop, will also be onboard as a sponsor. It is a great privilege to have the support of Steinlager who have a long standing history of involvement with New Zealand sports. Most recently has to be the All Blacks and the 1995 America’s Cup winning Team New Zealand, but also who can forget the big red Maxi skippered by Sir Peter Blake that won every leg of the 1989-90 Whitbread Round the World Race. Steinlager Pure’s intent is to support the futures of up and coming Kiwis. We are also involved in their ‘Pure Futures’ campaign and need votes from you all to help our cause so please visit www.purefutures.co.nz and register to vote.

Today is the opening day of Match Cup Germany and the second leg of the World Match Racing Tour. Live coverage is available on www.blackmatchracing.com and Blackmatch will be involved in the opening flights of the regatta, kicking off at 9am local time (7pm New Zealand, 8am UK).

You can also track us on Twitter, so please follow BlackMatchNZ to get our updates.

BlackMatch is Adam Minoprio, Daniel McLean, Tom Powrie, David Swete and Nick Blackman and we would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors Fedex Express, Events Clothing/Line 7 and Steinlager Pure.
