Audi MedCup: Public Village open from Saturday in Cagliari, Sardinia
The Region of Sardinia Trophy, last event of the 2010 Audi MedCup Circuit, was presented today in Cagliari. The Public Village opens tomorrow, less than 300 metres from the main, historic Via Roma thouroghfare with its bustling bars and cafes, home to the impressive Neo Gothic town hall, which dates back to the beginning of the last century

The Public Village has proven a big attraction over the course of the 2010 season with a range of activities and information for all ages, as well as forming the epicenter for daytime and evening entertainment. The Public Village is open daily from 1100hrs CET and features daily dock out shows as the fleets leave to go racing, live big screen coverage of the racing.
Each evening there is live musical entertainment to all tastes starting each evening at 2000hrs. Highlight of the regatta week could be the local rock band Sikitikis.
The Audi MedCup fleet for the 52 Series and 42 Series are moored up at the dockside as of today Friday, and Saturday offers free access to the pontoons during the evening from 1800hrs to 2030hrs.
Racing starts Monday with the Practice Race for the 52 Series and points racing for them begins on Tuesday. With the start scheduled for 1300hrs live coverage on Audi MedCup TV goes live from 1250hrs each day of racing, offering live racing action complemented by real time 3-D tracking, commentary, comment and interviews.
And on the evening of Saturday 25th, it will be the moment that all of the teams have been waiting for, when the Audi MedCup Circuit title winners are crowned at the gala prizegiving.

The different authorities and institutions, which come together to organise the Region of Sardinia Trophy, assembled in Cagliari today.
The presentation was held in the Autonomous Region of Sardinia Tourism head office and was attended by Sebastiano Sannitu, Head of Tourism for the Region of Sardinia, Emilio Floris, Mayor of Cagliari, Alberto Floris, President of the Yacht Club de Cagliari, Valeria Mangiarotti, Responsible for Marketing for Cagliari Port Authorities, Nacho Postigo, Audi MedCup Circuit Technical Director and further representatives from the different organising committees.
The full programme of entertainment was announced for the week was unveiled.
The competition starts Monday with the official practice race followed by racing on Tuesday 20th for the TP52 Series and Wednesday 21st for the GP42 Series.
