With the last seven races of today, the first event of the Extreme Sailing Series international circuit has come to an end. Eleven teams, representing nine different nations, have in the waters of Oman from February 20th to 24th, in a total of 32 races.
Groupe Edmond De Rothschild (FRA) won this first event. Second place went to Artemis Racing (SWE), with Red Bull Extreme Sailing (AUT) placing third. Luna Rossa achieved a fifth place with a total of 234 points, right behind Emirates Team New Zealand (NZL) who finished in fourth position with 236 points.
On this final day Luna Rossa won three out of seven races, thus earning the points necessary to step up in the ranking and to move from its previous 6th to its current 5th place.
Antonio Marrai (team manager): “This has been a really good day for the team; we are new in this class, and the participation to this first event has been very productive for us. Our results show a steady improvement, and I believe that this is an excellent starting point for the future.”

ACT 1, LUNA ROSSA TERMINA QUINTA
Con altre sette regate svolte nella giornata di oggi, si è conclusa la prima tappa del circuito internazionale Extreme Sailing Series. Undici Team, in rappresentanza di nove nazioni, hanno regatato dal 20 al 24 febbraio nelle acque omanite, svolgendo 32 prove in totale.
Groupe Edmond De Rothschild (FRA) si è aggiudicato il primo posto, secondo è giunto Artemis Racing (SWE) seguito da Red Bull Extreme Sailing (AUT). Luna Rossa ha conquistato la quinta posizione ottenendo 234 punti, alle spalle di Emirates Team New Zealand (NZL), quarto con 236 punti.
Nell’ultima giornata di regate il Team ha vinto tre prove, ottenendo un ottimo punteggio che gli ha permesso di salire dalla sesta alla quinta posizione.
Antonio Marrai (team manager): “Una giornata più che positiva per il team; all’esordio in questa classe considero la nostra partecipazione alla prima tappa molto costruttiva. Come si vede dai risultati abbiamo registrato una buona crescita e pensiamo che sia un ottimo punto di partenza per il futuro.”
