CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championships: Griffin Wins for Australia

After four days of action packed racing on the Wellignton Harbour Jay Griffin and his team of Henry Kernot and Hamish Hardy from the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia were crowned the 2011CentrePort International Youth Match Racing champions. Speaking at the prize giving Griffin said "it has been tight racing out on Wellington Harbour this week and we are very pleased to take home the title for our club and Australia."

Jay and his team won the finals three nil against his fellow Australian sailors from the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron skippered by Jordan Reece.

Meanwhile in the local derby Tim Coltman, Michael Cook and Matt Clough had a tight sail off for third place against his Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club mates Josh Porebski, James de Lisle and Stuart Williams.

Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club Commodore Andrew Morrison and CentrePort General Manager Porperty Nick Wareham both congratulated the competing teams on the spectacle they provided on Wellington Hrabour over the four days of the regatta and said they looked forward to seeing the teams back in the city for next year's CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championships.
