D+83. Since passing through the Doldrums, Jean-Pierre Dick and Loïck Peyron have been very evasive concerning their strategy, their competitors agree. Last Saturday, JP explained: "It is very difficult to apeak of a strategy now, knowing that our opponents are listening to us." Now, Mapfre will not see them any more! At the 10 o'clock classification, Virbac-Paprec 3 disappeared from the rankings for 36 hours. The French duo have decided to enter ghost mode to mask their strategy for getting around the anticyclone which blocks their route from their most dangerous opponent. Will they pass to the west or to the east? Answer Friday on the rankings at 2000...

Email received this morning:

So let's play...

Classement de 5h :
1.Virbac-Paprec 3 à 2016 milles de l'arrivée
2.Mapfre à 244,6 milles du leader
3.Renault à 1088,2 milles du leader

Note from SailRaceWin: We believe that they did not want to discuss their strategy, but also that they had probably not worked out what it would be last Saturday... They needed more time to see how the weather patterns would develop; now they have a better idea, have decided, and will keep their strategy to themselves, so that Iker and Xabi on Mapfre have to make up their own minds, without direct regard to the opposition, in the meanwhile... Interesting! Let's play!!
