LVT: Emirates Team New Zealand wins Louis Vuitton Trophy La Maddalena Finals Beating the Russian Synergy Team in a 3:2 Score
Two races down and on match point, Emirates Team New Zealand won the Louis Vuitton Trophy La Maddalena today in an action-packed afternoon of match race sailing

The New Zealand boat that won the Louis Vuitton Trophy Auckland in February prevailed 3-2 against the SYNERGY Russian Sailing Team that had put the Kiwis on the ropes 2-0 after the first race today.
For TEAMORIGIN it has been a tough event from lots of perspectives with an number of highs and lows for the team - the change of management structure at the start of the event, the announcement of new CEO Grant Simmer, some incredible displays of starting and racing skills and some serious boat handling issues. The reduction to only one pair of boats meant a lot of waiting on the side-lines for the sailors and hard to get stuck into the action. But all that said, we had some great racing against some top teams and we are looking forward to our next event.
The TEAMORIGIN team fly off to Marseilles for the next TP52 Audi MedCup series, where racing starts on 15th June. The next highlight after that will be their own 1851 Cup taking place in Cowes Week, racing 3rd to 6th of August, against BMW Oracle Racing - sure to be an incredible event.
