WMRT: Waka Racing on Day One at the Korea Match Cup

Korea Match Cup day one was an awfully tough one for the boys. Losing 3 races from 3 was not the ideal start we were after.

First up was Torvar Mirsky. We struggled entering from the port side and were unable to get out of the dial up without a penalty. Closing in on the line he got more breeze to close the gap. We attacked him in a last ditch effort to ditch our penalty but conceded another, losing the race there and then.

Race three we lost to Hansen. After putting a penalty on him, we then got a very harsh penalty come our way which was a real shame as we felt it was another on him. We then infringed to win the start which the umpires were onto and gave as an immediate penalty and didn't get a look in again.

Race three was against Richard and we lost the start, again finding it difficult entering from port in the light winds. We had a couple of sniffs but he maintained the lead and crossed the finish line in front.

All this to say we felt we sailed really well today but couldn't put points on the board. We have our chins up and look forward to a big day tomorrow where we can come back and tell you about the races we won.
