On the final day of the Extreme Sailing Series Europe in Almeria (ESP), Roman Hagara/Hans Peter Steinacher (both AUT), Gabriele Olivio (ITA) and David Vera (ESP) showed world class sailing in 20 knots of wind. The win on the day came with one 2nd place and six other top placings. This led to the Big-Boat-Newcomer in the high level sporting contest finishing the last of the five multihull series stops in sixth place. 12,000 fans looked on. Am Finaltag der Extreme Sailing Series Europe in Almeria (ESP) zeigten Roman Hagara/Hans Peter Steinacher (beide AUT), Gabriele Olivo (ITA) und David Vera (ESP) bei 20 Knoten eine Weltklasse-Leistung. Mit einem Tagessieg, einem zweiten Rang und sechs weiteren Top-Platzierungen segelten die Big-Boat-Newcomer im Spitzenfeld und beendeten den letzten von fünf Multihull-Serien-Stopps am 6. The multihull is the future of sailing. The teams love it, the spectatoprs have never seen such fast and spectacular boats. "All who doubted in the multihull have, been punished", indicated double Olympic gold medallist Hans Peter Steinacher (tactician on Red Bull Extreme Sailing) and he continued: "Not least, because the America's Cup is now taking place in a twin-hulled boat.'
With altogether 12 day victories in the season 2010, the international team with yachtsmen from Austria (Hagara, Steinacher), Spain (David Vera) and Italy (Gabriele Olivo) was positive. An enormous material disadvantage since the start of the season provided them with an unequal chance of winning. Skipper Roman Hagara: "We made a mistake in the setup, and the sails were never competitive. Taking risks and tactics did not help because we were simply not consistent enough. And we need training days. We have much work to do over the winter before us and will work intensively in order to be able to mix it in the 2011 world series ahead. Thanks to the team; the boys performed incredibly well."

The victory in Almeria – and therewith also the series title - went to a team that had been sailing in the series for two years - The Wave, Muscat (Oman/Skipper Paul Campbell James) ahead of Groupe Edmond de Rothschild (FRA/Skipper Yann Guichard). Ecover secured the third step on the podium (UK/Skipper Mike Golding). Red Bull Extreme Sailing competed in the entire programme, racing in Sete (FRA), Cowes (UK), Kiel (GER), Trapani (ITA) and Almeria (ESP) - and finished 6th overall. Up to 10 teams sailed in Europe's Extreme Sailing Series in 2010.
In 2011 this multihull spectacle with the best yachtsman in the world has been expanded into a world series. Eight regattas have been arranged in Europe, Asia, Middle East and the USA.

Nicht zuletzt, weil ein enormer Materialnachteil seit Saisonbeginn für ungleiche Verhältnisse sorgte. Skipper Roman Hagara: ‚ Wir haben im Setup fehler gemacht, der Segelsatz war nie konkurrenzfähig. Da hilft Risiko und Taktik auch nicht, weil man einfach nicht konstant genug ist. Und wir brauchen Trainingstage. Wir haben im Winter viel Arbeit vor uns und werden intensiv arbeiten, um 2011 in der Weltserie vorne mitmischen zu können. Danke an das Team, die Jungs haben unglaubliches geleistet. ’

Der Sieg in Almeria – und damit auch der Serientitel - ging an das seit drei Jahren in der Serie segelnde Team The Wave Muscat (Oman/Skipper Paul Campbell James) vor Groupe Edmond de Rothschild (FRA/Skipper Yann Guichard). Rang drei sicherte sich Ecover (UK/Skipper Mike Golding). Red Bull belegte in der Gesamtwertung, Rennen in Sete (FRA), Cowes (UK), Kiel (GER), Trapani (ITA) und Almeria (ESP) wurden ausgetragen – den 6. Rang. Bis zu 10 Teams segelten 2010 in der Extreme Sailing Series Europe.
2011 wird das Mehrrumpf-Spektakel der besten Segler der Welt auf eine Weltserie ausgeweitet. Acht Regatten in Europa, Asien, Middle East und den USA sind fixiert.
