America's Cup : Artemis Racing AC72 capsize - Statement from SailRaceWin

Artemis Racing issued a statement last week stating that a party had been misquoted and incorrect interpretation of facts applied in an article published by a newspaper. SailRaceWin did not reproduce this statement from the team as we did not wish to draw further attention to the article in question or false statements, which, we believe, are currently in wider circulation than just one article.

Please rely only on statements issued directly by Artemis Racing or the America's Cup authorities for the actual facts as to what happened in the capsize of the Artemis Racing AC72 on San Francisco Bay and its consequences.

We hope and trust that the Review Committee, chaired by Iain Murray, will talk to those on board the AC72, and in the vicinity at the time, to gain their observations, in addition to the footage shot on video and images, which, by their nature, only view the event at a distance and from one angle.
