Jaume Mumbru and Cali Sanmarti have gone beyond the latitude of Las Palmas in the Camary Islands, which they passed some 130 miles to the west. Their intention is to head north - at 3 o'clock in the afternoon they were advancing at 8 knots on a heading due north - in order to reach the Straits of Gibraltar. The finish in Barcelona is currently 1,400 miles from the bow of We Are Water.
Predictions suggest that the wind will rotate to the north, before going back to the northeast, i.e. it will blow from the destination of We Are Water, which is currently situated southwest of the entrance to the Mediterranean. If the prediction is confirmed, then Mumbru and Sanmarti will not be able to maintain their average, established in the last few days, of 225-250 miles per day on their way to Barcelona.
