After a fantastic regatta Aon Racing stumbled at the final hurdle, going down 3-1 to Denmark's Mads Ebler in the finals. The team led at times in several of the lost races, however they struggled to read the slightly steadier breeze and build up a comfortable lead.

In the last race of the finals we were soundly beaten on the start line and although we managed to catch up, we were unable to pass Mads, giving him his third win and the regatta.

Although we came up just short, the team is still really pleased with how they are sailing, with good boat speed and solid tactics usually a feature of our races.

There is now a significant break in the match racing schedule, with the next regatta being a Grade 1 in Pornichet, France. In the meantime the team is competing in the Tour De France a la Voile, which is a set of inshore regattas and coastal races that goes right around France (like the bike race but in boats).

We would like to thank our principal sponsor, Aon Insurance Brokers, as well as Club Marine and Allianz for their support. Thanks also to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and our friends and family.

Aon Racing is Reuben Corbett (Skipper), Adrian Short (Main) and Tom Bentham (Bow).
