Aon Racing had another strong performance on day two of the OM Match Cup in Italy. The team won their four remaining races of the round robin, beating the tough opposition of Poland's Tarnacki and Kiwi William Tiller. This put the team through into the semi finals without losing a race in the round robin, a great effort considering the shifty conditions on Lake Ledro.

Aon Racing was then able to choose their semi final opponent, electing to race Przemack Tarnacki. This left William Tiller facing Mads Ebler from Denmark, giving the possibility of an all New Zealand finals. In extremely shifty winds Aon Racing won their first race comfortably, picking the shifts nicely to work up a large lead.

At times in the second race the boats were barely moving, however the team did some nice work to edge out another win and a spot in the final. In the other semi final William Tiller was defeated 2-1 by Mads Ebler, meaning we will face the former world number 10 in tomorrows final. Ebler has sailed well throughout the regatta and will provide tough competition for Aon Racing tomorrow.

We would to thank our principal sponsor, Aon Insurance Brokers for their support. Thanks also to the Club Marine, Allianz, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and our friends and family.

Aon Racing is Reuben Corbett (Skipper), Adrian Short (Main) and Tom Bentham (Bow).
