by Reuben Corbett
First up for us today was fellow Kiwi and World No. 1 Adam Minoprio and his Blackmatch team. Adam managed to get the better of us at the start, forcing us to follow him across the line. They then managed to control the match well to hand us our first loss. In our only other match for the day we notched another win against local Bermudian Lance Fraser.
There are three teams tied for the lead in group 2 with Black Sheep on even points with Blackmatch and Eric Monnin from Switzerland. The top four are decided in this pool, but there is still everything to play for tomorrow as the top two will progress straight to the quarterfinals, whilst third and fourth must sail off in the repecharge for a spot in the quarters. Our final race tomorrow morning is against Jakub Pawluk.
Group 2 Standings
Eric Monnin(SUI) 4-1
Adam Minoprio(NZL) 4-1
Reuben Corbett(NZL) 4-1
Ben Ainslie(GBR) 3-2
Damien Iehl(FRA) 2-3
Lance Fraser(BDA) 1-5
Jakub Pawluk(POL) 0-5
We thank the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, family and friends for helping make this possible.
