Three separate teams each took race wins on the first day of fleet racing at the RC44 Trapani Cup in Sicily. But the team at the top of the overnight leader-board didn’t win a race; instead it was consistency across all four races for skipper Igor Lah (SLO) / tactician Michele Ivaldi (ITA) and their Team CEEREF from Slovenia to be the early leader among the 13-boat fieet.
There were race wins for Katusha (RUS), Synergy (RUS) won two and Team Aqua (GBR) took the final race of the day, but none could match the form of the Slovenian team led by Igor Lah, who have a six-point overnight lead over Synergy; Team Aqua sit in third, two-points ahead of Katusha in fourth.
Racing continues through to Sunday 5th May.
