Anna tries to occupy her mind with other activities as part of her preparation for a major regatta. Apart from travelling, which actually takes up a major part of the time, she runs, takes others sailing and watches her coach play soccer. She had a wonderful day sharing her joy for sailing with families at The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp.

Anna says, "I spent my weekend off in Connecticut. Saturday, I went to The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp in north east Connecticut, to take the attending families sailing. We arrived at 9:30am, meeting up at the dining hall. We grabbed a quick bite and watched the kids perfom some dances they had been practicing. We went to the boat house to rig the boats, and shortly after, the kids and parents showed up for sailing. We sailed, with smiles everywhere, around the lake for about two hours before it was lunch time. After lunch, we toured the camp and then headed home. Sunday, I went for an 8 mile run and watched our coach Dave play soccer before heading to Newport.

For me, I like to be slightly distracted by other things right before a major event so I don’t think too much about it and get too nervous. We have sailed in Newport a few times and just came off a great week of training so are quite comfortable in the boats. The forecast right now looks for great breeze all week long, so with a three hour practice tomorrow, I’m looking forward to racing starting on Tuesday."
