A a meeting at 12 noon in the Yacht Club Pointe Rouge, confirmation of the cancellation of the second round rodin, due to have been held today, was given. Sunday's racing will commence with the semi-finals. The weather conditions are supposed to ameliorate, which should permit racing tomorrow.
Jesper Radich (DEN), as winner of the round robin, has chosen fourth-place Pierre-Antoine Morvan (PAM) as his semi-final opponent, leaving a former ALEPH vs. ALPEH team-mate battle between Damien Iehl and Bertrand Pacé in the other semi-final.
The last two semi-finalists were decided after a count-back, as four crews finished the round robin on 5 wins. Just missing out were Eric Monnin (SUI) and Cédric Chateau (FRA).
Bertrand Pacé, "always very agressive" as his former Emirates Team New Zealand America's Cup team mate Dean Barker once commented with a laugh, had a half point deducted in his match against Radich due to damage, so finished the round robin on 6.5 points, in second place.
A plus point for Pacé and Iehl for there being no racing this afternoon is that they are able to watch the France-Italy rugby match on television!
With thanks to Coralie Jonet and Damien Iehl, Wind-2-win, for information.
